Family Play Days are $30 for the entire family, newborn-12+ and their adults. We meet once a month in the forest no matter the weather! This is a great introduction to the Let Children Play community.
We meet in the dirt parking lot at Leland Wild Foundation on the corner of Miller St and Leland Rd. We hike in together (it’s a .2 mi hike in). Children have the freedom to play and self direct their own experience. Often they build with large loose parts (pallet boards, bricks, branches..etc). Often times children use their engineering skills to create pulley systems, build forts and imaginary worlds.
Children learn to communicate and cooperate with one another through play. We encourage all parents to step back and let the play happen, and while you are doing that we facilitate discussion on how to implement a play based childhood in your own life outside of the forest!
