On this page you will find a list of communities that value risky play and independence.

Play:GroundNYC is an adventure playground on Governor’s Island. Parents are not allowed in to provide that independence and creative problem solving that’s so important for kids learning. They provide summer camps and it’s free for kids to play on weekends! To learn more click HERE

Sprouts Farm and Forest Learning in Millis MA is a licensed outdoor preschool for ages 3-6. The children’s day is steeped in outdoor, self directed play. Teacher and owner, Stephie Regan truly values the importance of child directed play experiences! To learn more click HERE

Although it is not based in the outdoors, this indoor skatepark is a vital part of the Taunton MA community. The instructors their allow for lots of free time and risky play through scootering, skateboard and BMX biking. To learn more click HERE
