Family Play Days are for the entire family, newborn-12+ and their adults. We meet once a month in the forest no matter the weather! This is a great introduction to the Let Children Play community.

We meet in the dirt parking lot at Leland Wild Foundation on the corner of Miller St and Leland Rd. We hike in together (it’s a .2 mi hike in). Children have the freedom to play and self direct their own experience. Often they build with large loose parts (pallet boards, bricks, branches..etc). Often times children use their engineering skills to create pulley systems, build forts and imaginary worlds.

Children learn to communicate and cooperate with one another through play. We encourage all parents to step back and let the play happen, and while you are doing that we facilitate discussion on how to implement a play based childhood in your own life outside of the forest!

Cancellation policy:  No refunds will be issued for illness, quarantine or undesirable weather. We are a 100% outdoor program with no indoor structure with the exception of weather emergencies. We plan to be outside in snow and sleet and rain. We will provide a full refund if you cancel 3 weeks prior to the date you registered your child.  If the weather is unsafe, you will receive an email 24 hours in advance of the cancellation. A makeup day will be provided due to a weather cancellation. Thank you for understanding. We spend lots of time planning and gathering materials for these classes. We need to be able to plan ahead to make the best experience possible.
